The City of Wichita Falls has contracted Scales Construction Company to perform the road construction for the Taft Street Project. This project begins on July 26th and will last approximately 18 to 24 months.
Construction will begin at the intersection of Kemp and Taft Blvd. and extend 1.05 miles continuing north on Taft with the construction ending just past Stone Creek Ranch Apartments. The project will include the demolition of the existing roadway and a portion of each connecting residential driveway. It will also include new utility drainage structures and piping along with the relocation of a portion of the existing water main. The new Taft Blvd. roadway will be widened to 36ft. wide which is 18ft. wider than the existing roadway.
